EEF is a charitable society subject to Swiss law and registered in Bern, Switzerland. According to the determination of the tax department of Canton Bern on 5th September 2002, donations of individuals are tax deductible, as stipulated by Article 83, Paragraph 1, Letter g of the cantonal tax regulations and Article 56, Letter g of the law on direct federal tax (Bundessteuer) as well as Article 6, Paragraph 1 of the law on estate taxes and donations. As part of a periodical verification the tax authorities of Canton Bern confirmed with their decision of 5th August 2016 that EEF continues to be tax-exempt due to its non-profit status.
